PERFUME
Perfume - is the most expensive, concentrated and long-lasting type of perfume, containing the highest percentage of essential oils (18-30%) dissolved in pure alcohol (96% by volume). Thanks to this, perfumes are much more persistent - just a few drops will retain a strong scent on cotton fabric for more than 30 hours!! Currently, perfumes are produced by a few perfumers, and the most concentrated in their assortment is perfume water.
EDP
Perfumed water - Eau De Parfume - the concentration of aromatic oils is 10-20% (the less oils, the less pungent and less persistent the smell), and alcohol is 90%. Perfumed water is called "day perfume". In simple words, this is a more concentrated toilet water. But that's not all. Perfumed water contains much more essential oils in its composition, due to which the aroma of perfume may differ slightly from toilet water. Durability from several hours to 2 days.
EDT
Eau De Toilette - Eau De Toilette is a combination of essential oils, alcohol solution and aromatic components (flowers, wood, citrus, etc.). Eau de Toilette is a lighter version of perfume. Lasts from several hours to days. The concentration of oils in EDT is 4-10%, alcohol 80-90%. This is a light perfume option that can be used several times a day. The persistence of the fragrance is significantly less than that of EDP and Parfume. Today, this is the most common type of women's perfume, and men's perfumes consist almost entirely of eau de toilette.
Officially, “Eau de Toilette” was created thanks to Napoleon Bonaparte. While in exile on the island of Saint Helena, he came up with his own recipe for aromatic water with the addition of bergamot to replace the expired cologne. The emperor called his invention “toilet water”, and since then this term has become official. The history of toilet water is much older - even in the ancient world it was widely used - sprayed on sheds, pets, poured into city fountains, moistened and filled the air at receptions with aromas.
EDC (ODC)
Eau de Cologne - is the least concentrated perfume product (3-5% extract, 70% alcohol). Eau de Cologne is a perfume created by Italian perfumer Johann Maria Farina and named after his native Cologne. Literally translated, it means "Water of Cologne".
